The first drmX Online Percussion Festival will finally see the world!
On September 27th & 28th you will have the chance to be part of this very first edition providing performances and masterclasses.
This years focus is on vibraphone & improvisation featuring top tier perfomers and educators that inspire you to start or improve free play skills and work on your own music.
Early Bird Special: If you buy your ticket before August 1st you’ll not only get a discount, but also will receive a personal video of each artist with an improvisation exercise that you can work on and experiment with until the festival starts.
All events will be online and can be streamed remotely so you can watch everything throughout the festival days whenever it fits best regarding your schedule and timezone.
There will also be an opening and a closing live stream to start and end the festival including a giveaway at the end where some nice gear will be gifted to some lucky winners 🎁

JAKE CHAPMAN aka Chappy Milkshake (USA)
Los Angeles-native Jake Chapman is a vibraphonist, pianist, composer, and songwriter. He holds a BA in music and computer science from Columbia University, and studied jazz vibraphone at Juilliard as well as musical theatre songwriting in the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. In 2021, Jake released 5 albums (The Adventures of Mega Vybes, Vols. 1-4 and Xylobeat) using material he recorded on the iPhone app Voisey. In addition to being called upon to perform and record in a variety of musical situations, Jake stays active on YouTube (Jake Chapman), TikTok (@jakechapman), and Instagram (@chappymilkshake). In 2024 he released the viral song "An angel will be with you shortly".
MARJA BURCHARD (GER)
Marja Burchard is a composer, performer, artist and multi-instrumentalist. She was born as the only daughter of Christian Burchard, the founder of the music band Embryo. Having born and raised within the band, she has taken the role of leading the band herself since the death of her father in 2016.
MAX GAERTNER (GER)
Max is a percussionist, author and educator based in Frankfurt/Germany. His work gained a lot of attention due to his vast experiments combining percussion instruments and electronics, including his approach of the „Hand-Mic-Technique“ amongst others. Max’ debut single „Detach“ was released in 2023, he is a sought-after recording artist and tours extensively to spread his unique idea of innovative percussion practice. As a specialist in contemporary music performance he collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Marina Abramoviç, Lynsey Peisinger, Ensemble Modern, Berliner Philharmoniker. Collaborations with renowned international composers led to numerous world premieres as a soloist and with his ensemble. Max graduated from the renowned university ‚Hanns Eisler‘ Berlin and gained his doctoral degree (Dr. Phil.) for a research on performing electroacoustic compositions for percussion. His research in percussion techniques, electroacoustic music performance and education has been published by SCHOTT Music and ARE edition. Max received several scholarships and is currently teaching at the University of Hamburg and BfSM Dinkelsbühl.
